Bristan is the number one shower and tap brand in the UK and are part of Masco, a global leader in the supplier of home products. Red and Gray have been working with the company for two years and are helping to streamline the sales cycle by providing photorealistic images for their brochures and website affording them cost and time savings over traditional photography.
Red and Gray have recently completed an exciting collection of images for Bristan which, supported with an assortment of existing photography, have been compiled into the new Bristan Collection Brochure 2014.
The brief was to produce appealing and inspiring imagery to illustrate a new selection of products. This was to be realized through the production of 7 bathroom sets and 4 kitchen sets from which 3-4 images would be produced from each set. There would also be a small collection of bespoke cameo sets that would illustrate certain important products.
Red and Gray were provided with separate photographs that represented the design feel and style direction that each set would need to portray. The freedom was given to us to interpret these photographs and design sets that remained faithful to the brief but gave Bristan bespoke spaces that highlighted their products in an appealing way.
There were many difficulties in producing these images that we had to overcome. Many of the textures were being seen in a close up camera shot so we had to carefully rework the level of detail so the texture did not appear computer generated. Many of the products had flat chrome surfaces which are notoriously difficult to illustrate without either looking fake or having stray reflections that spoil the effect. To overcome this situation we had to extensively post produce the final images to ensure each product was illustrated in the best possible way.
The outcome was a happy client with a glossy brochure of new products of which 87% were computer generated images.
